A show I watched recently with my family is "Messiah". For those of you who don't know what Messiah means, it basically means leader or savior. Messiah is one of the best shows I have ever watched. In this show, a mysterious man announces that he is the Messiah and leads people into strange situations. He goes from the Middle East to America, where most of the story takes place. At times, you might believe that he actually has Godly powers (not overly done) but at other times, you might think he's an illusionist. Without giving too much away, the CIA takes interest in him because they believe he might be the head of a terrorist movement. The show is very intriguing and only has 10 episodes. Although Netflix said they canceled season 2, they might always bring it up and I would highly recommend it for all of you that are bored out there.
Another show I would recommend for all of you pre-med kids to watch is "The Resident". I'm not a huge Grey's fan and always thought those types of shows were boring but I'm taking great interest in this show for a few reasons. Firstly, it shows you the in's and out's of how hospitals run. From how they look for insured patients to how they get funds to run the hospital to the special treatment of the rich, they show all of it. Secondly, you get a lot of medical knowledge and terms that you've never heard before. Sure some of it might be fiction but a lot of the stories are real. Thirdly, it shows you the life of a resident. From balancing home and work, it sets you up for what life might throw at you. It also talks about industries such as the medical device market and the organ donor market.
Keep in mind that I am not a huge fan of shows. I rather watch movies and move on with my life so if I am recommending these shows, they must be good. What shows are you currently watching? Have any suggestions?
